In case you missed it, more than 300 of the world’s top male and female skaters have made their way to Lauridsen Skatepark for the Dew Tour happening this weekend! Comedy Shows: Teehee’s Comedy Club

There are three shows this weekend at Teehee’s Comedy Club! On Friday night, check out the “Chicago Comedy Showcase“. Recruited straight from Chicago, this comedic force will be one you won’t soon forget. On Saturday, check out “The Gram” or “Comedy Kickback”. The Gram is an Instagram-based comedy game show where we find out who has the best Instagram game! For the Comedy Kickback, the Black Iowa Streams crew is putting on a showcase featuring some of Iowa’s funniest black comedians. Don’t forget to buy your ticket for Coral Thede‘s “Tits up! At Teehee’s” May 29 show, which is sure to sell out.

Power Life Yoga Class at Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden

Enjoy an all-levels yoga series with Power Life Yoga that weaves graceful movements with challenging postures. Improve posture, flexibility, and focus while cultivating a sense of serenity. Bagel Pop-Up at Eden with The Second Rise

Join us this Saturday, May 22 from 10-1pm for this extra-special pop-up of bagels, made by our friend Abbey of local @the_second_rise 🥯 You may know her already from word-of-mouth, and you may also have had the pleasure of ordering these deliciously chewy bagel yourselves. IF NOT, we highly suggest you stroll through East Village this Saturday, stop by Eden, and say a mouthful-of-bagel hello (before she moves to Iowa city!). Freshly-prepared offerings of bagels sliced with cream cheese, or bagels to take home and enjoy, in flavors of Plain, Everything, Blueberry, Asiago, Caprese, and small batch vegan.
Downtown Farmers’ Market

The Downtown Farmers’ Market returns for its 2021 season with a modified, but in-person market. The scaled-back Market will focus on providing only fresh produce and farm and artisan packaged food from local vendors in a safe, socially-distanced way. They’re estimating 110 vendors on site, which is about half of the number at a traditional Saturday market. On Saturday, May 29, Memorial Day weekend, the Market will increase its capacity to host 165 on-site vendors, around 75% of the number at a traditional Saturday Market. We’ll take it!
Heart of Des Moines Farmers’ Market

Two women on a mission to bring health food to the River Bend neighborhood? Monika and Crystal are doing the damn thing. They need our help and we hope you’re with us. This market will run every Saturday, starting May 1 through September 25 from 2-4 p.m. There will be vendors, food trucks, a health tent, kid-friendly activities, and entertainment. The 1-Day Shop Hop is a fun day filled with treats, in-store specials, and fantastic found items!
