Teehee’s Comedy Club is teaming up with Iowa Asian Alliance in honor of AAPI Heritage Month. It’s a CelebrAsian comedy Friday night filled with drinks, food, and crackups! This showcase of all Asian comedians will make for an amazing night. Stop by on Thursday night for Sook’s Korean Kitchen Food Truck at 6 p.m.

Zumba Class at Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden

Admire the Garden as you workout during this outdoor Zumba class! Zumba is a dance fitness program that combines Latin and international music to create an easy, fun, and effective workout anyone can do. Cristina Rodriguez, a certified Zumba instructor and ZIN™ member with 8 years of experience, will be teaching this class. The cost is $5 for members and $10 for nonmembers.
Downtown Farmers’ Market
- 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Des Moines’ Historic Court District
The Downtown Farmers’ Market returns for its 2021 season with a modified, but in-person market. The scaled-back Market will focus on providing only fresh produce and farm and artisan packaged food from local vendors in a safe, socially-distanced way. They’re estimating 110 vendors on site, which is about half of the number at a traditional Saturday market. On Saturday, May 29, Memorial Day weekend, the Market will increase its capacity to host 165 on-site vendors, around 75% of the number at a traditional Saturday Market. We’ll take it!
Heart of Des Moines Farmers’ Market

Two women on a mission to bring health food to the River Bend neighborhood? Monika and Crystal are doing the damn thing. They need our help and we hope you’re with us. This market will run every Saturday, starting May 1 through September 25 from 2-4 p.m. There will be vendors, food trucks, a health tent, kid-friendly activities, and entertainment. Yoga with Ben from Good Vibes Movement at the Surety Hotel

If you want a day trip to Cedar Rapids, take it this Saturday for the Iowa Pop Art Market 2021. It has “the greatest lineup of artists ever assembled in iowa” and “vintage & retro goods from the state’s freshest vendors.” Honestly, we can’t disagree after seeing the lineup ourselves.
