Sunset Paddle with SUP Yoga DSM at Easter Lake

Want to try something new? How about paddle boarding on Easter Lake? You have your choice of an intro to paddle boarding class or a stand up paddle boarding yoga class! Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga uses specialized yoga paddleboards for a new challenge to your practice and connects you with nature, all leading to a sweet floating savasana. Not ready to try SUP Yoga? More interested in just paddling around? Choose their intro long class for the paddling basics and a leisurely paddle around the lake. We’re partial to the sunset paddle at 5 p.m.

This is one of our favorite festivals of the year! Celebrate Asian cultures at Iowa’s Largest Asian American event. It obviously showcases authentic food, entertainment, and family-friendly activities. Nationwide will provide FREE parking at their 1100 Walnut employee ramp for the entirety of the event. Gates will raise at 7 a.m. Friday and they will remain up through the weekend.   

We’re especially excited to see our friend Jen from Sivid serving their plant-forward food like Thai Fries, Impossible Thai Burger and Impossible Banh Mi Burger!

Each display is designed and fabricated by artisans and will thrill you.”

New here? The Downtown Farmers’ Market is an open-air street market located in the Historic Court District in Downtown Des Moines (DSM). Vendors will be set up outdoors on Court Avenue and adjacent side streets. It feels especially huge since it was limited to the pandemic and it’s back to full size. It’s one of the best in the country! Don’t miss it this summer. 


Game Greater Des Moines with The Dealt Hand

Spend your afternoon indoors playing games and getting prizes while learning how to be part of the food rescue work being done by Eat Greater DSM!
Eat Greater Des Moines aims to establish a food system that satisfies the immediate needs of our community while also developing a healthier system for the future. They achieve this managing a volunteer network who collect surplus food from local businesses, thereby reducing food waste, and filling community fridges where the food is made safely available to all.

Coolest Bike In Town Bicycle Show at Captain Roy’s

Captain Roy’s is a great patio spot next to a bike trail with live music and water. Perfect combination right. It also combines Des Moines’ love of celebrating biking this Sunday. Registration is noon to 1 pm. $5.00 per bike.
