Strawberry Picking at Wilson’s Orchard & Farm

It is strawberry season! Get those cute strawberry patch pics while you pick your own in-season berries at Wilson’s. There are a limited number of berries available each day, so arrive early or call ahead! Can’t make it this weekend? The patch should have berries available through the end of the month.


SUP Yoga Classes at Easter Lake

Find your zen, connect with nature, and take part in a super fun outdoor activity with SUP Yoga DSM! Stand Up Yoga (SUP) classes are offered on Friday evenings (sunset paddle!), Saturday morning and afternoon, and Sunday morning and afternoon. Make this kind of yoga a SUP-er fun part of your summer routine!


First Friday at Mainframe Studios

It is the first Friday of the month, and you know what that means: First Friday at Mainframe Studios! This month, enjoy art from local creatives featuring the works of Iowa artists Micah Ferin, Cody Hickock, Amee Ellis, Anne Tochka, ISU students, and Gary Wilson.


Party in the Park

It’s a Party in the Park at Walker-Johnston Park in Urbandale! Head over early for an evening of fun for all ages: a beer garden for the adults, food trucks for the family, and activities for kids. Live music starts at 5:30 p.m., and admission is free!


Free Flicks in the Park

It is the first free flick of the season! Mark your calendars for this Friday at 6:30 p.m. and head to the Teachout Aquatic Center Parking Lot and watch Elemental. Obviously, admission is free! Lawn chairs, blanket, and snacks are highly encouraged!

This weekend marks the Beaverdale Big Event, hosted by the Beaverdale Neighborhood Association. June 8 is the culmination of nearly a month of donation drives, which ends with a day of service. Projects include a inter-urban trail cleanup, a community workout and flow, and supporting the Franklin Avenue Library and Moore Elementary!


Downtown Des Moines Farmers’ Market

It is another great weekend for the Downtown Des Moines Farmers’ Market! The Market is an open-air street market located in the Historic Court District in Downtown Des Moines (DSM). Vendors will be set up outdoors on Court Avenue and adjacent side streets. It’s one of the best in the country! Don’t miss it this summer to see some of our absolute favorite small business owners from around the metro.


Porter’s Patio Pup Crawl

Leash up your dog, grab your sunglasses and sunscreen, and head over to the hottest pup-friendly patios Des Moines has to offer! For just $25, you’ll get a can koozie and a punch card that is good for one FREE pint at each participating location (so, five drinks!). All proceeds will be donated to the Porter-Rinsky Foundation, which helps to save dogs in need.

Heart of Des Moines Farmers’ Market

It is the opening weekend of the Heart of Des Moines Farmers’ Market! Market vendors range from fresh produce, handmade goods, food, live entertainment, and plenty of fun. Shop local, support the community, and celebrate the kickoff of the fourth year of the Heart of Des Moines Farmers’ Market!

Filipino Fiesta 2024

2024 Art Festival at Captain Roy’s

Local Music Showcase at Teehee’s Comedy Club

Teehee’s is great for laughs any day of the week (at least through the end of the month – check out the big news!), except the second Sunday of every month. Instead of comedy, treat your ears to an afternoon of local music from the DSM music scene. Showcase lineup includes both first-time talent and seasoned performers. The best part? Admission is FREE!
