Johnston Green Days Festival

Barksdale’s Cookie Dough Pop-Up

Can’t wait until the Iowa State Fair for your cookies? Don’t worry, because Barksdale’s cookie dough is going on sale for ONE DAY ONLY this Friday. Cookie dough will be available in frozen pre-portioned packages. Get there when you can because the sale is first-come, first-served!


Sips in the City at Val Air Ballroom

It is the signature Winefest event: Sips in the City! This time, at the newly renovated Val Air Ballroom. Tickets start at $50 for an evening of live music and entertainment, food, and (of course) wine. The tasting will run until 9 p.m., and a cash bar will be available until 10 p.m.


Marcella Arguello at Teehee’s Comedy Club

Teehee’s is great for laughs any day of the week (at least through the end of the month – check out the big news!), and catch us there this Friday for Marcella Anguello’s set. “Marcella is a stand-up comedian, writer and actor whose comedy knows no bounds; she eagerly discusses any and every topic that tickles her.”

Downtown Des Moines Farmers’ Market

It is another great weekend for the Downtown Des Moines Farmers’ Market! The Market is an open-air street market located in the Historic Court District in Downtown Des Moines (DSM). Vendors will be set up outdoors on Court Avenue and adjacent side streets. It’s one of the best in the country! Don’t miss it this summer to see some of our absolute favorite small business owners from around the metro.


Yoga at The Market

If you already had plans to go to the Downtown Farmers’ Market, make a real trip out of it by signing up for Yoga at The Market! Power Life Yoga will host a free class for all students at The Riverwalk Hub, right near the Des Moines River. Get zen before you pick up your weekly produce!


The Regal Beagle WDM Grand Opening

We love a new business in town, and we love a grand opening even more! Celebrate The Regal Beagle at 11 a.m. for a day jam-packed full of fun. Starting at 4 p.m., Crown Royal will hand out swag, and at 8 p.m., Neva Alden will be performing LIVE! Stay late, because at 10 p.m. until midnight, the bar will offer $2 mini beers!


Des Moines People’s Pride at Water Works Park

Couldn’t get enough of PrideFest last weekend? Keep the festivities going this weekend at Des Moines People’s Pride, a community-centered pride celebration in Water Works Park. The day will involve food, vendors, performers, and celebrating love of all kinds. Masks will be required on the day of the event, so bring your N95 or KN95. Additional masks will be available on site.


The Barn Town Get Down

Taking place for the third year in the parking lot of Barn Town, check out the “Get Down” festival in West Des Moines/Waukee. Tickets are limited and selling out fast! “The purpose of this fest is to introduce you to some of our friends in the beer and brewing industry as well as a way for everyone to get together and have a great time and try some amazing liquid! The Barn Town Get Down will feature at least 50 Breweries, Meaderies & Cideries from all over the country pouring some of the finest liquid in the brewing industry!”


Iowa Juneteenth Observance Neighbor’s Day Celebration
