FAQ

What happens at Pitch A Friend!?

For the first 90 minutes of the event, 12 singles will be pitched by their best friend. Each pitch will be 3 minutes each with 2 minutes for questions from the crowd. Think lighthearted, funny, and old school powerpoint fun. After the pitches take place, we’ll mix and mingle with everyone in the crowd. Someone catch your eye? Take this opportunity to shoot your shot. We’ll also have forms to fill out for missed connections or to reinforce your interest in a person! The DSMG team will distribute after the event.

Wanting to go support a single friend, but have a partner?

Yes, partnered folks are welcome, and you can pitch someone even if you’re not single! We will have “NOT SINGLE” stickers to wear.  Please keep in mind that this event is primarily for single folks in our community, so we want the crowd to be a majority single; however, we understand the need for a hype friend or two.

How do I pitch my friend?

We ask for your contact information, your single friends contact information, and a copy of your pitch presentation. The format of your presentation is up to you but it must be compatible with Google Slides or Powerpoint. You’ll have 3 minutes to present, so keep it short and sweet. 3 minutes will fly by!

Please make sure to include preferred sexual preference and pronouns on your presentations so that audience members know who the single is interested in. Once you’ve uploaded your presentation and submitted your application, we’ll let you know if you’re accepted! Pitch slots are not guaranteed. There are more applications expected than pitch slots!
