World Food & Music Festival

Another Des Moines favorite is returning this weekend with the World Food and Music Festival. It’s title pretty much speaks for itself, and you can expect a great variety of food and music all weekend. Some of the acts include Jeff & the Effects, Sharane Calister, and the Unfortunate Sons. 


Beaverdale Fall Festival 


LOCATION: 4023 Urbandale Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50310 

  • Friday, September 16 – Saturday, September 17

Head over to Des Moines’ neighborhood gem, Beaverdale, this weekend and you’ll be sure to catch several great shows. Beaverdale’s Fall Festival will have numerous merchant and food vendors and multiple stages. Local acts include the Sons of Gladys Kravitz, Cover That!, The Maytags, Standing Hampton and much more! 


Firetrucker Brewery


LOCATION: 716 SW 3rd St, Ankeny, IA 50023

Brian Bielanski

  • Saturday, September 17, 6 p.m.

Saturdays are for acoustic rock and Brian Bielanski is here to deliver. Head on over to Ankeny’s Firetrucker Brewery and grab your favorite brew before the show. This event is the perfect way to soak in the final weekends of warmer weather. 


xBk Live

Josiah Johnson

  • Friday, September 16, 8 p.m. 

Fans of The Head and the Heart are in for a treat as former founding member, Josiah Johnson, is coming to xBk. This singer/songwriter has made a name for himself as a stand alone act and will be playing his great original works Friday night. Don’t miss his DSM stop on tour!
