🎶 Live Music🎶

Son Peruchos at Woolys

  • Woolys, 504 E Locust St, Des Moines, IA 50309
  • Friday June 11, 9 – 11:30 p.m.

Son Peruchos, based in Des Moines, Iowa, is a fusion of Andean and South American folk music, utilizing traditional instruments such as the zampona, quena, and charango. This musical group also integrates their traditional Andean sound with more modern Latin and Caribbean rhythms, such as cumbia, bachata, and rock en español.

Dueling Fiddles at Winterset Cidery

  • Winterset Cidery, 1638 Hwy 169,Winterset, IA, United States
  • Saturday, June 12, 7 – 10:00 p.m.

We’re trying to convince all of our friends to go with us as we type this. Winterset Cidery is the perfect place to watch the sun go down in the summer while sipping some amazing cider. This Saturday, they’re hosting Dueling Fiddles – a dope duo of women violinists who are SO good –  for live music as well. There’s a $5 cover charge per vehicle (up to 6 people), but so worth it.

The Pork Tornadoes Emo Vs. Pop at Woolys

  • Woolys, 504 E Locust St, Des Moines, IA 50309
  • Saturday, June 12, 8 – 11:30 p.m.

The Pork Tornadoes are a bit of an enigma to those that haven’t seen them live. How is it possible for an Iowa cover band to sell out their last 3 headline shows at Woolys in Des Moines? What about the head-scratching amount of views on their YouTube channel (3.7 million views) and fans on their social media pages (60,000 fans)? Oh, and how about the terribly poor choice of band name? Their incredibly loyal fanbase will tell you that it makes complete sense and until you see a show, you may not understand.
